Do you only perform surgery of the hand ?

No, at The Miami Hand and Upper Extremity Institute we specialize in the entire upper extremity; this includes the hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder and clavicle.

How can I make an appointment?

Please call us at 305-667-8686, listen to the recording and follow the instructions and prompts. You can also use the “Make Appointment” button located in upper right corner of this page.

Our appointment scheduler will reach you right away and personally assist you in making an appointment.

What should I bring with me to the appointment?

Please bring a government issued ID (a driver’s license is fine), your insurance card and a list of medications you are currently taking.

If your insurance requires a referral for the visit, please make sure to obtain one prior
to the appointment. It is the patient’s responsibility to ensure the referral is obtained and presented the day of service.

How long will I have to wait to see the doctor?

We do our very best to minimize wait times for all our patients. However, our practice has a specialty in treating emergency cases. We accept emergency referrals daily from many other practices.

As a result of this, wait times can vary.


Do your physicians treat children?

Yes. All of our doctors and staff work with children.

Do you provide transportation?

No. We do not provide transportation to our office location.

Do the doctors speak Spanish?

Yes, all the doctors on our team are fluent in both English and Spanish.

What type of medical conditions do you treat?

Our team of doctors and clinical staff specialize in trauma to the hand and upper extremities. This includes fractures, dislocations, lacerations, congential
deformities, ligament and tendon tears.

Do you offer therapy and rehabilitation?

Yes, we make our Therapy Center available to all our patients. Our doctors work closely with our Therapy Center team to ensure both the treatment and followup rehabilitation provide optimal results for our patients.*
